Comparison of sibling rivalry in Varisu Tamil Movie with ancient mythology and history

Watched Varisu Tamil movie yesterday and it is reminding all popular royal family stories of the past.

Temper of a son: Adiyogi (first yogi, first guru) Shiva arranged a competition among his sons for a mango fruit. After losing the game, youngest son flew into temper and got out of his home Mt. Kailash. Later family needs to pacify his son Karthikeya/Murugan.

Heir wars of succession in Mughal (Mongol) empire is based on the competition and eventual fratricide in the family. Jahangir killed his 2 brothers to come to throne (Blinded his own handsome son as he might become an emperor. Imprisoned his father Akbar) --> Shah Jahan (Jahangir's son) killed his 36 brothers to come to throne --> Aurangzeb killed his brothers to be on throne (imprisoned his father, Shah Jahan. If he didn’t kill his elder brother, he will be killed by him, so it is survival of the fittest) --> Muazzam/Bahadur Shah I (his half-brothers were killed in conflicts).  Meanwhile a business group (crocodile in the movie, British's East India company) watching this cooly for 100 years from Jahangir's time. The last Moghul (Mongol) emperor Bahadur Shah II sent to exile in Rangoon in Burma (now Myanmar) by Britishers.

Caliph succession: After prophet Muhammad deaths three caliphs (3rd Caliph Uthman, 4th Caliph Ali and 8th Caliph Umar) were assassinated at different times.

In Ramayana Kaikeyi managed to sending Rama to a forest so that her son Bharata came to throne. Later, Rama deemed his duty as king more important than his duty as husband, and so sent Sita away to the forest.

In Mahabharata it is all heirs' conflicts within the family. Kunti gave birth to Yudishtra while Kandhari was still pregnant. She knows her son Duryodhana is younger and may not make it to throne. In that moment of envy and disappointment she hit her womb.

Judaism, Christianity and Quran scriptures expose the brother's rivalry and sisters' rivalry. In a famous story in the Quran, Joseph's brothers are so jealous of him they effectively sell him into slavery.

In ancient Egypt, Seth killed to his brother Osiris. Perhaps this might have been promoted into the bible. In Bible God’s first grandchildren, Adam's son Cain (a farmer) murdered his brother Abel (an animal herder). Perhaps a symbolic conflict between herder's animals eating the crops in the farmer's land.
